Back in 1985 I was hungry for new Commodore 64 titles and we were treated to so many in such a short space of time. With £5 pocket money each week, I used to dart to the end of our road where I had the choice of three outlets that sold Commodore 64 games - specifically Mastertronic budget titles. I would treat myself to two new games a week and more often than not they were great titles...

One of those pocket money spending moments was when I purchased this little gem of a game... Big Mac - The Maintenance Man by Mastertronic. For only £1.99 I got to own a cracking platform game that had 18 screens of pure game play and frustration. I say 18 screens, but back in 1985 I only got as far as the 5th screen! I had no idea how many more I had to complete - though I suspect the instructions would have given me an idea!

Today I reveal ALL 18 screens for you entertainment...

HOW WAS IT PLAYED?: I built a crazy hack version of the game and skipped through the levels.

  • Vinny: A great little title that is still fun to play today. The game play is spot on and keeps you coming back for more!
  • Brendan Phoenix: Still plays good now - I had this back in the day - sure it was purchased from a petrol station - yes petrol stations selling C64 games!

Can also recommend Fearless Fred and the Factory of Doom which is very similar.
  • Andrew Fisher: Never got this one, did not play it until the last few years. A good platformer.

FINAL SAY: A fab platformer for only £1.99!

RATING: 8 / 10
