Webmaster:
Many thanks to Rio
Baan for sending in the game ending to this cracking
little game.

The ending starts with
this superb picture: there's animated stars in the
background

Cue the credits!

Finally, The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?
I've finished the game before without cheating, but
didn't have time to play it through just to get to the
ending for this report (yeah, so I cheated).
SO WHAT HAPPENS?
Well, you eventually get to a large robot which you have
to destroy. The first time I got to it I had no idea it
was the big-boss. You destroy it anyway and you get to
look at a nice picture, scrolly message, and hear a
catchy new tune. Then the game ends.
COMMENTS: The end
screen is very well drawn and the music is really catchy
and beautifully synthesized. I was a bit surprised to
get to the end only level after 4-2. I was expecting the
game to be longer and harder, but it was not to be.
FINAL SAY: This
is another quality ending from Rainbow Arts, but it's
lacking any cinematic finale (like the ending to the
Turrican games, or Denaris), so I'm going to have to
dock it points for that. The scrolling message is a bit
ordinary as well (save for the "Dolby mono" logo which
was a nice touch). Even still, X-Out is a great game and
the ending is worth playing to the end for.
