My hat goes off to Brendan for completing this
little gem - even if he did use the cracked version full
of cheats. I must have spent just over an hour trying to
complete this little bugger, but to no avail. It wasn't
until Brendan mentioned that he was after a challenge
that I forced upon him the perils of Vampire. He spent
most of the afternoon playing through the whole game,
and here is the result of his hard work ...

A little game ending
ditty plays ...

... and the final
screen appears. The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
Both Brendan and I used the cracked version of this
game, which still proved to be very difficult. But since
then, I have created a crazy hack for this game,
which can be downloaded from
here.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
The final 3 pieces you need are the stake, crucifix and
hammer - climb to the top and a massive coffin is
waiting for you - I jump into it and the screen goes
black apart from your sprite and a little star circling
round you.
A little David Whittaker
ditty plays and then the final screen and message
appears, which reads, "AT LAST, THE EVIL SPECTRE HAS
BEEN EXPELLED FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH. A NEW
ACHIEVEMENT IN THE LONG JOURNEY OF OUR HERO."
COMMENTS:
-
Vinny: To be
honest, and considering that this game was only £1.99,
this ending is pretty cool. Okay, so it doesn't do
anything impressive, but what it does do is offer the
game player an end to the journey along with some new
graphics and music.
-
Brendan: Remember doing this one - was bored and
off from work so you suggested this one to me Vinny.
Was a right little pain to complete. If I remember
one of the items is pretty much impossible to
collect and I have forgotten how I did it! Was a fun
game to complete in all honesty, the Zzap review was
far roo low ( pity about the speccy graphics). All
in all - especially given some of the lame
Codemaster endings seen recently, this aint half
bad.
-
Andrew Fisher: Never got very far into the game
(got it on one of the Quattro compilations) but
that's not a bad ending for a budget game -
considering some of the dross we have seen on other
Codemasters games!
-
Andy Vaisey: ...picks self up off floor... A
Codies budget game with an ending other than
"Congratulations"? It must be a full moon or
something... At least they bothered this time, even
if it's not exactly memorable.
FINAL SAY:
It's worth an 'ickle look (",)
