I remember seeing a cracked version of this game a few years back that allowed you to skip levels. The only problem was, it skipped the dramatic fall that forms part of the ending, and so I wouldn't have scored it very high. Fortunately, Matt Rogers was able to obtain a version that allowed us to see the vital part. The only downside is that someone has been playing around with the final text of the game, and so we have supplied the correct, untouched version of the final screen (see screenshot 2 below)...

"Shoot da muvva!"

The correct final ending screen. The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: MATT: "Okay - I like this one, but in order to get it to you quickly and  painlessly, I cheated - with the old level skip cheat. However, you still have to provide the final shot to send Nitty over the edge - good job you've got infinite energy and bullets!"

SO WHAT HAPPENS?:  Once you shoot the villain, he falls over the edge of the building and you get to see a bird's eye view of the fall. He ends up on top of a parked car, which gets covered in blood. The screen then changes to a view of the next day's newspaper headlines: "THE DAILY DIABOLICAL - CAPONE GETS TEN YEARS". The final screen has a message that reads: "YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE UNTOUCHABLES. HIT ANY KEY TO CONTINUE". A quiet piece of ending music plays in the background.

COMMENTS: Another game ending that has surprised me! I was so sure that this game was going to under-deliver, but it seems I was wrong. It works really well and looks cool. I think it could have done with a better peice of music and a longer epilogue.

FINAL SAY: Give it a go.
