Completed by Brendan (Fiery) Phoenix

I never played this game until it was released on the HIT SQUAD budget label (skin-flint) and so I was a late comer to the game. Needless to say that I couldn't wait to play it to the end, which I achieved via a cheat listing produced by Warren Pilkington (check out my Cheat & Beat 9 program on www.hackersoft.co.uk to see the listing in action). It's a cool game that kept me going for hours.

Many thanks to Brendan for supplying the ending ...

The beginning of the end.

QUAID EXTENDED HIS HAND.

Looks like a hand grabbing a bowling ball!

THE ALIEN REACTOR IGNITED!

An electric-shocking bowling ball!

THEN ....

Shee-yit! His hand has burnt to cinders!

COHAAGGEN PERISHED IN THE BLAST.

Nice make-up :)

THE REACTION CHANGED THE ATMOSPHERE ALMOST INSTANTLY,
MAKING MARS FULLY HABITABLE FOR HUMANS.

Cool picture. The End.

And now for a top billing.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED? BRENDAN: "Played all 4 levels with cheats - there is a level skip cheat which you enter on the high score but the version I used would not let me enter any details on to the high score table."

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: The ending starts with a spooky and realistic sound effect of our hero breathing in and out (this doesn't work too well on the CCS64 emulator). Whilst he breathes, a whole host of hi-res screens appear that tells the final story ending. The ending comes to a close showing our hero with his arm around ... erm ... someone and a fab ending tune plays in the background.

COMMENTS:

  • Brendan: Have to say I liked the ending - a lot. The music effects in the background during the final sequence are pretty spooky and the static pics telling the end story are nice. I think one of the best endings I have seen in a while - good enough for a gold medal - I'm not sure. But a definite 8/10 I think.

  • Vinny: I do think this ending deserves an eight and only misses the top mark due to the lack of animation and an ending scroller. The static pictures have been implemented well and certainly fit with the atmosphere of the ending. The final ending tune also adds to that atmosphere.

FINAL SAY: Don't miss this great ending.

G.E. RATING: 8 / 10
