Here's a shoot-em-up that doesn't particularly get talked about much... and after a few games I can see why...

Tiger Mission is a helicopter shoot-em-up arcade game coded by the Kele Line Danish team. On first appearances it looks and feels very impressive with it's charming intro screens and cool music, but a few minutes into the game it becomes a little boring to say the least. After five rounds of tedious shoot-em-up destruction, is there any light at the end of the tunnel?

Time to land...

Level 5 is complete.

Lets tot up the scores.

At first I wasn't sure if this was the ending message!

A wipe of the screen...

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I used a cracked version by the great N0stalgia.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Once you have completed level 5 and landed, your bonuses get added to your final score, and then an ending message appears, which reads: "HERE'S ANOTHER HERO WHO HAVE BLOWN THE ENEMY INTO ATOMS! BECAUSE OF YOU I HAVE TO MAKE A TIGER MISSION II... BUT ANYWAY YOU DID FINE OUT THERE... TRY AGAIN." It then goes into the usual high-score entry part. This is accompanied by an ending tune from Johannes Bjerregaard.

  • Vinny: After seeing the intro screens, I really was expecting something a little more dynamic! A total let down. The only real thing it's got going for it is the ending tune. 3/10 from me.
  • Andrew Fisher: Kele Line set out to make a C64 version of the arcade game Tiger Heli, and did a pretty good job of it.

The ending is not spectacular but fits well with the rest of the presentation.
  • Inge Pedersen: A nice little ending for this game.
  • Gaz Spence: I was hoping for more, given the presentation throughout the game is above average. More pussy cat than big cat.
  • Andy Vaisey: Loved Tiger Heli in the arcade and this is a pretty good 'version' of it. Not a bad ending. Not good either. Just sort of ok really...

FINAL SAY: Hell-i-crapter bollix.
