I can't believe it has
been so long since I purchased this game back in 1990.
It was another John Menzies purchased, and came in the
larger sized Thalamus packaging.
It's not a typical
Thalamus game that covers new ground and does lack the
unique design and quality that previous Thalamus games
brought to the hungry C64 gaming freaks. I felt a little
let down by the game, but I still enjoyed the
challenge...

The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
Stephen used a trainer that allowed him to skip straight
to the ending :)
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Once the final level is completed, the screen flicks
over to a colourful picture showing our hero shaking
hands with some bloke (possible a Park Ranger). The
ending text reads: "HOORAY, YOU'VE DONE IT. SIMPLE
AMAZING! WICKED. FANTASTIC. BRILL! THANKS A MILLION."
This is accompanied by an ending sound track by Mark
Clements.
COMMENTS:
-
Vinny: It's pretty and it sounds nice (thumping
tune), but apart from that, it's lacking in
originality.
-
Andrew Fisher: Best summed up as "cute but
difficult". Not the greatest ending ever, but a nice
enough pic and tune. 5/10.
-
Brendan Phoenix: Became used to really quality
Thalamus endings so this is a big let down - you
know they could have done so much better - just a
static pic - cop out. 5/10.
-
Andy Vaisey: Shame. Another missed opportunity
for something special. Some animation wouldn't have
gone amiss before showing this bitmap. I kinda feel
guilty for requesting this ending... ;)
-
Gaz Spence: IMHO, this is an under-rated game; a
platformer with nice original touches throughout. I
guess the ending's average but the naive picture is
not without its merits.
FINAL SAY:
I'm left with a
sour taste in my mouth :(
