I remember playing this game back in the day. A friend of mine had a cracked version and we spent hours trying to complete it, but to no avail. The sad thing is that it only takes about 40 seconds when you use a cheat, but then that defeats the object of playing it I suppose. Anyway, a fun little game for its day, but what of the ending...

Final level complete.

Whooosh to the front on the train.

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I used a mega cheat that allowed me to walk straight to the ending in about 40 seconds!

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Once you have completed the final section of the train, the screen pans over to the front of the train as it slows down. When it comes to a stop, the door opens to the engine and our hero appears. The ending message reads: "CONGRATULATIONS! THE TRAIN HAS STOPPED!"

  • Vinny: A bit of animation with the train coming to a stop and the door opening, along with a message, but there isn't much else to see.

  • Andrew Fisher: For the time it was fun, played it recently in the Retroleague and it is really frustrating. I suppose the ending was always going to be simple.

  • Neil Collins: I remember beating this on the spectrum without cheating. I liked this game a lot as a kid. I thought the main character was really cool and it really did feel like you were on a speeding train.

The ending sadly is very poor.

  • Brendan Phoenix: Toughie - It's ok I suppose given the time it was from. Did Tony Crowther do this? Has he ever done a great ending?

  • Andy Vaisey: Old (bloody hard!) game, old style (boring) ending. Nuff said.

FINAL SAY: What can I say? It was 1984!

G.E. RATING: 2 / 10
