Starforce Fighter by Mastertronic is a side
scrolling shoot-em-up. It's not bad for a budget game I
suppose, although it's not very original. It's quite
similar to Delta, where you have to blast your way
through each level to reach the next. Each level has
different landscape detail and colour schemes although
the enemies and attack patterns are quite similar.
graphics and sound are ok and it plays quite well. It's
just your average shoot-em-up for a couple of quid. Not
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
I used an infinite lives cheat.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Once all levels are beaten a large scrolling message of
congratulations whizzes across the screen (similar to
the ending of
Uridium). Pressing the fire button takes you to a
final page of text which reads 'CONGRATULATIONS. YOU
HAVE MADE IT HOME SAFELY AND YOUR PEOPLE ARE THROWING
YOU A PARTY. JUST AS YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE SAFE YOU WERE
SENT ON ANOTHER MISSION'. Pressing the fire button
then sends you back to the start of level one.

A quick blast reveals a very average shoot em up, and
while the large scrolly message is nice it's not a great
It's the old 'Well done, now do it again' ending...
