This game is much harder than
The Captive
(also programmed by Nigel Johnstone) - which I
completed without cheats - just save states. Both games
are very similar in style and game play and were a good
addition to the Mastertronic catalogue.
Unfortunately, Spooks was
still a little bugger to complete - even with the sprite
detection removed. I still had to put up with an energy
level that slowly decreases; rooms which you cannot
enter unless you have the right jacket on and have to
make sure sure you are carrying a bulb and a battery as
the lights tend to go off every now and again - a pain
when you can only carry 3 items at a time. Anyway,
here's the ending ...

Our hero reaches the
exit.

The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
I used the magic of an Action Replay cart to remove
sprite.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Once all 8 music boxes are collected, the death march
plays, which is followed by a little message saying, "THE
GHOSTS CAN NOW REST IN PEACE. YOU HAVE COMPLETED 100%."
COMMENTS:
I'm just thankful that it has some kind of ending.
FINAL SAY: I've completed it for you, so don't
bother
