Okay - so I got this one dreadfully wrong!! There I was searching around for a Christmas themed game ending (for Christmas 2013), using the search criteria of 'Santa', when I stumbled upon this game. As you can see by the screenshot on the left, there's a guy with a long white beard and so I was convinced it was a Christmas game ending. Oh  well - let's see it anyway...

Satan by Dinamic is a hack n slash multi-directional platformer that resembles the U.S. Gold game Black Tiger - and kind of resembles Knight n Grail by Psytronik Software. It features a brave warrior who travels around different levels learning the secrets of magic to become a wizard so that he can defeat the Evil Planners. The levels are full of various enemies to defeat, and annoying platforms and pillars to climb - and when I say annoying, I mean ANNOYING Unfortunately the game is marred by many defects such as the bulky graphics, the need for pixel perfect jumps, the small play area, and the slow pace of the whole game. ZZAP! 64 magazine felt that an overall score of 43% for this game was justifiable, and maybe some of that scoring was down to the poor, poor game ending...

The final item is in sight...

Our hero positions himself...

...and takes that final leap of faith!

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: Plenty of cheats used to complete this one. I doubt there's any other way to actually complete it!

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Once our hero has collected the final item, an ending message appears that reads: "YOU DID IT. CONGRATULATIONS". This is accompanied by a game ending tune.

  • Brendan: Aaaargh, those graphics hurt my eyes! Pretty poor ending - although the ending ditty notches it up to a 3/10 in my book.
  • Vinny: The game is bad, but the game ending is down right abysmal! "YOU DID IT. CONGRATULATIONS"... is that it?!? All that effect and you get this pile of cack! At least the ending tune is cool. 2.5/10 from me, and 2 of that is for the tune!
  • Andrew Fisher: The cartridge version of this is rare and worth a lot of money, so I wouldn't mind if it turned up in my Christmas stocking. Actually playing it is a different matter - not quite a turkey, but Dinamic's diabolical difficulty curve is evident once again. At the end? A decent tune but a despicable text screen ending.
  • Andy Vaisey: The smart Charles Deenan tune does little to save that hateful ending, I'm afraid.

FINAL SAY: This game ending is going straight to hell!

G.E. RATING: 3 / 10
