Ruff and Reddy in the Space Adventure by Hi-Tec
Software is a game from 1990, which means that I had
moved onto the Amiga by then. It's a childish little
platform game with cartoon characters, but it's actually
quite tough, so I can't imagine many young people
beating this one. I just whizzed through the game
collecting everything I could, leaping about the
platforms and making my way to the exits of each level.
The levels varied from the planet surface to underground
mines to underwater mazes. The graphics are okay and it's
easy to control, but the difficulty is a tad too high.
I'm not a huge fan of this, but it's not the worst
platform game on the C64...
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
- Neil: I played it using an invincibility cheat.
- Vinny: I crazy
hacked the game and added 22 in-game features, one of
them allowing you to jump straight to the game ending
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Once you exit the final level the end screen appears. It
shows Ruff and Reddy standing in the centre of the
screen smiling. A message is written overhead that reads
'WELL DONE. YOU HAVE RESCUED THE LILLI PUNIES'. A
message is also written below that reads 'THEY
PROGRAM YOUR ROCKET TO GET YOU BACK TO EARTH. THE END'. Pressing
fire restarts the game.
