Now here's a full price title that I purchased on the day of its release. I used to be a massive fan of the Road Runner cartoons and so this game was at the top of my wanted list. I was a little disappointed about the multi-load, but I was impressed with the actual arcade style of the game. Unfortunately, I wasn't ever good enough to complete the game and so I am delighted to be able to present the ending to you courtesy of Manfred Bauer. Pity it's so cack...

Level 16 is done and dusted.

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: Manfred used the Disk-Version cracked by Remember that allowed him to start on Level 16 and jump with Level skip cheat right to the end.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: The ending level scores are given and then the screen displays: "THAT ALL FOLKS" and plays the Looney Toones ending ditty.

COMMENTS:

  • Vinny: There's nothing much to say. Unfortunately, Fred Grey's ending tune isn't up to scratch.

  • Andrew Fisher: It was always going to be a tricky conversion to get right, and the multiload kills the interest... Awful ending.

  • Brendan Phoenix: Have to admit I have never seen the arcade ending so we have nothing to judge it against. However I am pretty sure the speccy version has speech saying 'That's all folks' along with the famous pic of Road Runner in the Loony Tunes circle. No excuse for the C64 not managing the same. The actual conversion was ok - much better to play on emulators than the terrible multi-load cassette version. Pity the ending is a total let down. 0.5/10.

FINAL SAY: They could have done so much more with this ending :(
