The Real Ghostbusters is vertical scrolling shooter
with the characters from the kids' Ghostbusters cartoon.
It's not a great game by any means, but it is playable -
In this game you are
tasked with zapping various ghouls and ghosts to reach
the end of level guardians. Once you have beaten the ten
levels you have completed the game. Simple...
Level 10 is finally
In you go...
Ah - end of level
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
- Neil: Using an
infinite lives cheat.
- Vinny: I used a
trainer version to jump through all the levels, and then
I spent an age trying to create a .PRG file of the end.
I finally got there by using a real Commodore 64 in
Retro Replay mode. Phew!
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Once the final guardian is destroyed, our Ghostbusters
exits the level on collecting the final key. The
player's bonus is calculated before a picture of the
Ghostbusters vehicle is displayed outside the
Ghostbusters HQ. The words 'CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE
SAVED THE CITY' is written in the centre of the
screen and the game ends.
FINAL SAY: Not very good. There's no
animation, or anything to get excited about.
