Rainbow Dragon by Firebird is a strange arcade /
puzzle game that has left me frustrated for years...
really disappointed with this game, as it looked as
though it would be something I would enjoy but instead
it's quite a dull game with an oversized dragon, small
playing area, confusing game play and high level of
difficulty. You guide the dragon around a small series
of caves trying to gain access to the next one by
solving odd puzzles. This involves picking up and using
items in certain places, firing your dragon breath at
items and using spells. The overall aim is to destroy
ten chests and leave the caves. I was stuck on this game
for years until I got it going again with an emulator
and worked my way through it. It really wasn't worth the
pain of playing this for hours. It's really frustrating,
with clumsy controls and silly puzzles. The instructions
don't help much either.
Another budget game that looks
far better than it actually is...
"Yippee - the exit!"
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
I saved my progress as I worked my way through the
caves. It was hours of trial and error. Some items and
puzzles make no sense. It would actually help if you
could tell what the items are supposed to be...
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Not a lot. The final barrier is removed and the dragon
flies free into a rippling rainbow effect before
returning to the start of the game.
