There is an abundance of cute games on the Commodore
64, from Mayhem in
Rodland right through to the recently released
Jumper. So 'cute' isn't really something new on our
beloved breadbin. But take a fat, cute little pig, add
him to a colourful screen, fill that screen with all
sorts food, add a cute tune, and then now and again fire
a toilet across the screen just for prosperity, and
you've got yourself a winning CUTE game...
Quod Init Exit by Simone
Bevilacqua is a beautifully presented arcade platformer
that simply oozes 'FUN'. It is simplistic in its
approach, but at the same time it's fast-paced,
exciting, humorous and simply a delight to play...
The aim of the game is
simple: help Zampo the pig survive through a full day
without dying of hunger or missing the toilet. You'll
need to guide Zampo around the colourful screen of
platforms in order to catch the yummy food that zips
across horizontally, whilst simultaneously avoiding
vials of unappetizing poison. However, this is not all.
Stuffing your belly full isn't the key to success. In
Zampo's words, "whatever goes in, comes out" - to
complete each level you'll also need to catch the toilet
and ride it to victory.
I love this game so much,
I brought the cartridge version...
Zampo is finally at
peace with his bowels...
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
I can't remember if I just hacked the ending or if I
used a trained version!
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
One you have completed the final level, the ending
screen appears with the following message: "You did
your best and the result was... ... a perfect day! Now
the thought of food disappears and another settles in
your mind... ... sleep!"
- Andrew Fisher:
I like the game, the graphics are really cute but it's
disappointing that there isn't more in the way of game
play. The simplistic ending is a shame too.
- Andy Vaisey:
... It does hires (really) well and is simple to pick up
and play. But in my opinion, simplicity turns to boredom
quite quickly. Maybe some scrolling levels and a bit
more to the game play and it'd be a winner winner
chicken dinner. Or should that be pork?
What could be better than a fat, little pig taking a sh#t?
