Frank Gasking has produced this corker of a puzzle
game, which is a conversion of the popular Gameboy
version. It's one of those games that has you playing
for hours. Considering that Frank isn't a full-time
programmer and only dabbles (like me) in Commodore 64
programming, he really has produced a top-rate puzzler.
So now you know that, I bet you're wondering about the
game ending? ...

Our little hero finally
completes Level 50, which seems to generate
an earthquake!

The screen slowly wipes
away ...

... leaving our hero
...

... to vanish ...

... and transform back
into a real mouse.

Good stuff!

Time for a victory jig. The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?
Frank was kind enough to send me the game ending
along with all the level codes (",)
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Once you complete the final level (50), the screen
shakes and then wipes away, leaving our little hero
alone on the screen. He starts to flash all different
colours, which indicates some sort of transformation.
The mouse then disappears for a second and then starts
to re-appear as his former, fully formed self. He then
starts to dance back and forth over the ending message
that reads, "CONGRATULATION! YOU HAVE COMPLETED ALL
50 PUZZLES OF Q-BILLION, AND HAVE ESCAPED FROM THE EVIL
DR STILTON ..... WELL DONE!!".
COMMENTS: Frank is
one of the C64endings team members, and so I know that
he would have been very conscious about the ending when
he was programming this game. I think it really pays off
and completes the game in style. Saying that, the game
could have done with an actual game ending tune (from
WAZ), but unfortunately we have to settle with the
in-game tune. I'm sure Frank will have a good reason for
this.
FINAL SAY:
It's cute (",)
