Project Firestart is one of those games that really
stands the test of time. With its cool graphics and
stunning gameplay, it's not wonder that ZZAP64 magazine
gave it a 91 percent rating. This game ending really did
have a lot to live up to and I am pleased to say this it
did - and some!
There are actually two
different versions of the ending: 1. You get killed; 2:
You kill the baddie and end up having jiggy-jiggy with
the missus. Let's take a look at both endings ...
PLEASE NOTE - the ending (in .VSF format only) needs
disk 0 in drive 8 for it to fully load (we have included
this in the zipped attachment)
# ENDING 1: You
die #

A superb animation of
the shuttle flying away from the mother ship.

The mother ship
explodes!

Our hero is on his
way home.

Someone is lurking in
the shadows.

He has a gun! This is
the break-off point that determines
which direction the ending actually takes.

"OH SHEE-YIT"

BANG! You're dead.

The End ... or is it?
# ENDING 2: You
live and have sex! #

At the break-off
point (see above), if you press the fire button,
a fight breaks out.

You've killed the
enemy ... RESULT :)

Time to turn around
and head off.

"hellooooooooooooo,
baby"

"GO ON MY SON!"

Our hero heads
homewards.

Time for a bit of TV
after sex.

More TV ;)

Oops! It's gone on
the blink!

The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
Brendan only used a walkthrough to get to the end!
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
The ending starts with our hero's ship flying away from
the evil mother ship that is about to be destroyed. The
mother ship is blown into a thousand pieces and our hero
heads towards home. Unfortunately, someone is lurking in
the shadows and is after revenge! I'll let you watch the
rest of the sequence ;) Just remember that there are two
versions of the ending and this is determined by
pressing the fire button at the right point (see above
screen shots).
COMMENTS
(WEBMASTER):
Brendan has found a gem of a game ending and certainly
shows that the programmers had the game player's
interests to heart. It really is a fantastic idea to
have two endings that are determined by the game player.
A quality production from start to finish.
COMMENTS
(BRENDAN):
Properly one of the longest end sequences I have seen in
a 64 game - fully tells the story, shows you firstly
escaping from an exploding ship, a confrontation with a
bad guy, you killing the bad guy, getting the girl and
your boss telling you well done - even the movie style -
THE END signs it off nicely.
FINAL SAY:
PERFECT in every way :)
