Pharaoh is a platform game by CP Verlag in the style
of Palace Software's Cauldron II, but the game
is a lot different...
The graphics are really nice with
large sprites and good use of colour. The control method
works well although I first found it confusing to jump
by pressing down on the joystick - but you get used to
it. There's a large map to explore with a lot of puzzles
to work out. I was lost very quickly so gave up after a
short time playing. My initial impression is that this
game is quite impressive and has the ingredients to make
it a really good platform game. It's a typical CP Verlag
game where they seem to have taken the best elements of
similar style games and combined them into a neat game
of their own. It's well worth checking out...

'THE END'... but is
it?

Congratulation, and celebrations, I want the world to
know I'm happy as can be... #

Time for an
epilogue...

The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
I cheated big time and skipped to the end sequence.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
The ending is a neatly drawn picture of two pharaoh's
heads with some lit torches on a wall between them. The
pharaohs blink and the torches flicker. The words 'The
End' appear at the bottom of the screen in large
writing. This is followed by a cinematically styled
message that scrolls up the screen like the end credits
of a movie. The message congratulates you on beating the
game and you are now able to revive two of your 2000
year old buddies. It goes on to tell you why it was
necessary to collect the torches and that everyone can
now return to their far away Beta planet. This is
followed by the programming credits before the message
loops back to the start.
