Oh how this brings back so many good memories (",) I was a massive fan of the OINK! comic and would religiously buy my weekly issue and read it from cover to cover. It had some real zany humour and sometimes cutting it close to the mark - but that's why I loved it! Apparently - WHSmith banned it from sale in all their shops and so the comic very quickly disappeared.

What was great was having a game made that reflected the same attitude and ideas that came out of the comic. CRL did a great job with OINK! and I remember spending many a dark night trying to get Editor (Uncle Pig) status...

The End!

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I'm almost sure that Gaz cheated all the way to the end (just press F1 to see the ending).

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: The ending screen appears and reads: "GAME OVER CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE BEATEN THE DEADLINE. YOUR RATING - EDITOR - ".

COMMENTS:

  • Vinny: What a load of poo! It may as well have said "YOU HAVE BEATEN THE DEADLINE. NOW F#CK OFF!" Or something like that. I am really gutted by this ending as I had high-hopes for seeing something very humorous.

  • Andy Vaisey: That's a complete pig of an ending. Arf, arf...

  • Kungfufurby: Did the programmer beat the deadline? The ending looks like as though the programmer didn't...

I presume you can view the final result though with the comic based on the ending message? Er... do we have a comic since a cheat code was used?

That's still not a good ending. Wish there was an extra bit after viewing your comic... something humorous.

  • Brendan Phoenix: PIG SH*T!

A game with some good idea's and it could have been a corker - instead it's a porker! I hate endings which are based on you obtaining some sort of rank - such a cop out.

BTW - how many other games out there were based on comics? Can only think of this, Viz and Judge Dredd. My mind may be playing tricks though. Strange how The Beano or Dandy did not licence their characters.

  • Gaz Spence: A disappointing blend of three average sub-games; made worse for the fact that you had to play them innumerable times before being able to complete the game. And all for that pathetic ending! :(

FINAL SAY: Maybe 0.5/10 is too much!

G.E. RATING: 0.5 / 10
