Oh how I played this to death back in the day. I remember getting this game home from our local computer shop and playing it until 3am the next morning! I still couldn't quite managed to get to the end, and it wasn't until Inge Pedersen sent in the final sequence that I got to actually see what happens - even if it was 25 years later!

Since receiving the ending from Inge, I have also managed to produce a special 'crazy hack' version of the game that houses 14 in-game features from 'alien freeze' and 'infinite bombs', right down to allowing you to instantly see the ending by pressing '0' during game play.

Anyway - here is the ending as sent in by Inge...

Nearly there...

Finally - the last room in the complex!

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: Both Inge and I hacked the ending. You can get my 'crazy hack' version of this game by clicking the download icon above (in the usual place).

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: When you get to the final screen, there is a very strange looking ZX81 waiting for you. The game endings with the standard 'game over' ditty, and then the ending message is displayed, which reads: "CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE FOUND THE EVIL ZX81 (WITH RAM PACK) LAIR. WELL DONE."

COMMENTS:

  • Vinny: I was only really expecting a 'well done' and so it's good to see the humorous ZX81 image - even if it doesn't look anything like a ZX81!
  • Gaz Spence: Loving this ending. Just a thought - would the Speccy version have an evil C64 in the lair?
  • Andrew Fisher: Not a big fan of the game itself, and certainly don't think the ending is up to much - yes, a separate location/picture and end text, but that's not much reward.
  • Brendan Phoenix: Longest one word title game on the C64?

To be honest I would have had this one down as a loop, so it is a nice surprise it has an ending, even if it is not a good one!
  • Andy Vaisey: I hated this game back in the day (borrowed from a friend not bought, fortunately). 1000 similar screens of tedium ending with a poor joke is not my idea of 'fun'...

FINAL SAY: I can't believe that I have FINALLY seen the end to this one!!!

G.E. RATING: 3 / 10
