The Never-ending Story II is a multi-part action
game by Linel. I'm guessing it's based on the film of
the same name. I've not seen it, so I have no idea how
the story goes...
The game is split into
many parts - which are all completely different styles
of games. Your adventure begins with a 2D platform game.
This is followed by four other levels, before you reach
the final part. The last level is split into two parts,
the first is a horse riding game, where you have to jump
and duck obstacles - followed by a short swimming game,
where you have to navigate the rapids and avoid
graphics are pretty good and there's lots of different
things to do. It's not the greatest game in the world,
but it's quite big and fun to play.
The ending begins...
I really love this
Ah - that animation
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
Having tried many versions, which were either in German,
or just kept crashing - I finally found a working
version. This version also had a cheat that allowed me
to skip levels.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Once you have reached the end of the water section, you
grab onto a few branches at the bottom of the screen. It
seems our hero is safe. The storybook that appears
between levels re-appears and concludes the story. The
hero uses his last wish to save Fantasia. A picture is
shown of Fantasia starting to rebuild. A final message
says that the adventure is over and that our hero will
one day return to the land of dreams. The book closes
and the game restarts.
