To be honest, I had never played this game and so it was just as well that Brendan took on the challenge to obtain the ending. And good job too, because it is a good ending to a cool game...

The sub comes into view.

Our hero takes a leap of faith.

Down he goes.

The sub disappears into the water.

Time for the reactor to blow (oo-er, missus).

KA...

...BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The dust settles.

Phew!

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I think Brendan played all the way to the end without cheating!

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: A submarine appears and our hero jumps inside. The sub disappears into the sea and the sequence cuts to a generator counting down. The counter hits 000 and then generator explodes! The dust settles and the ending message appears: "THE BOMB HAS EXPLOTED (I think they mean "EXPLODED") MISSION FINISHED." The screen then changes to a scene showing our hero with some hoola-dancing gals in grass skirts, with the ending message: "NOW ENJOY YOUR SUCCESS AND KEEP READY FOR ARTIC MOVES."

COMMENTS:

  • Brendan Phoenix: All in all an ok ending - I would hazard a 7/10 mark. Maybe a bit harsh - just that the Amiga version is one of my fave endings of all time (similar apart from the fact you see the sub emerge at the side of the island - our hero appears from the top clutching a cocktail - catches a glimpse of the topless dancers, pulls his shorts down and chases after them!)

I didn't cheat - don't think you can on the final part - you need to collect codes from the 3 captains of the ship and enter them into the terminals to set the bomb, call the escape sub, etc.

Think the codes are random and may change every time - so I did complete it with no cheats.

  • Vinny: This is a great ending with a cool animation sequence and music. I think Brendan's scoring is far too low; there's a lot to this ending and it deserves so much more :) I love the dancing hoola-gals. Very good ending sequence and humour to boost.

  • Gary Spence: It's a surprisingly cool ending. I particularly like the hula girls...

  • Neil Collins: Neat little ending - I remember seeing it years ago.

  • Andy Vaisey: I could never really get on with the game, but the ending is decent enough. Your score is just about right methinks!

  • Andrew Fisher: I could never get on with any of Dinamic's games - the difficulty level was so high. But at least they put some effort into that - 7.5 from me.

  • Frank Gasking: Very nice ending with the music added too. I think 8-9 / 10 is about right. Btw... "Artic Moves" ? ... another potential GTW to uncover?... Well, i've added it to the list to make an entry. Will link to the ending page in the write up.

FINAL SAY: I'm impressed!

G.E. RATING: 9 / 10
