• Completed & Reviewed by Neil Collins

Metrocross a space age version of the 110 metre hurdles. I played this a few times as a kid, but soon switched the game off as it is incredibly repetitive. Your aim is to run (or skateboard) to the finishing line before your allocated time runs out. There are many obstacles on the way which slow you down. The game gets very difficult late on, if you can stand playing for that long.

The final level is complete!

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: Using an infinite time cheat.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Once you cross the final finish line on the 24th level, our hero does a back flip and holds out his fist (in a Bruce Forsythe style). Quite camp actually. You get a large bonus and the game then ends as you are shown the high score table.

COMMENTS:

  • Neil: Terrible. Surely they could have squeezed a better end in there.
  • Vinny: Hmmm... just about an ending... though I do like the Brucie ending. "You don't get nothing for a pair; NOT IN THIS GAME!" ;) 1.5/10 from me.
  • Brendan: Wasn't that bad a conversion to be honest, not a great game but that is the fault of the rather mediocre arcade original.

Surprised this has an ending of sorts to be honest, would have had this one down as a looper.
  • Andy Vaisey: I always thought ZZAP! were too generous! It's not a bad, bad game, but it's just so boring and monotonous I can't think of a reason to play it short of helping to get a good nights sleep. And the ending mirrors the game. Boring.
  • Andrew Fisher: Another player put off by the reviews at the time, but since playing it years later (and the arcade version under emulation) I do enjoy it. Gutted that there is nothing worth reaching at the end, though.

FINAL SAY: Boring game. Boring end. Don't bother guys...
