MASK by Gremlin is the first of three games
featuring the kids cartoon characters. I wasn't a fan as
a kid, so I didn't really know much about them. I
remember playing this game and completing a few levels
but I never reached the end. You play the part of Matt
Trakker who is the only MASK member that hasn't been
thrown through a time warp by the evil VENOM forces. You
have to navigate each zone and save your colleagues.
It's just a case of blasting your way through the levels
and finding the appropriate mask that is initially
hidden from you. Enemies come from all directions and
you need to blast obstacles to work your way around the
level to reach hidden areas. Graphically it is ok, with
often chunky sprites and badly drawn backgrounds. It
plays fairly well and it's easy to get started. It's fun
to play but the novelty soon wears off after a level or
two. It's not great but it's better than Transformers...

The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
I used a cheat that allowed me to skip levels. There is
a cracked/trainer version by Psycho/Force.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
The final screen shows Scott sitting up in bed while
speaking to a robot called T-BOB. The robot asks 'WHAT'S
UP SCOTT?' and Scott replies 'T-BOB! I'VE JUST
HAD A TERRIBLE DREAM!'. Hilarious. Gotta love
Scott's pyjamas. (Do all action heroes wear such attire
to bed?). I bet he wet the bed too...
