Lethal is a very difficult side scrolling arcade game in the style of Bounder.

In the game you have to guide your character across the screen, leaping chasms and firing at the enemies that attack you. You can collect bonuses and other items that lie on the ground, and must avoid contact with the walls or you will die. It's easy enough to control, but the jumping requires great accuracy making the game very difficult to beat.

The graphics are below average too, so it doesn't look that great.

This really isn't my type of game, so I can't really recommend this to anyone - apart from maybe those who enjoyed Bounder (which I'm sure there can't be that many). I found the game boring and way too difficult to get any enjoyment out of it...

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: Using an unlimited lives cheat.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: At the end of the last level there is a moving platform. Once you leap on it, the game is beaten and returns back to the start. The words 'Well Done' are displayed on the screen in large letters formed from the background graphics.

COMMENTS:

  • Neil: Some text created from the background graphics just isn't good enough. Very poor indeed. 2/10.

  • Vinny: I recently played with the code to this game to see if it was worth crazy hacking... one of the features I played with was getting the final level to play at the point that the 'WELL DONE' is shown...

As for the ending... it's not really an ending; though it does mimic the Uridium idea of displaying the ending message within the level design. 2/10 from me too.
  • Andrew Fisher: By no means the worst budget game out there, with a bit more play testing it could have been improved. The lettering at the end is OK but does not add up to a proper end sequence.

FINAL SAY: Not much of an ending really...

G.E. RATING: 2 / 10
