Mastertronic: the true kings of budget software. I'm
still trying to complete my collection of Mastertronic
games, but I'm not too sure as to what I am supposed to
do once it's complete (DOH!).
Kane was a refreshing
budget release that oozed superb game play, great
graphics and some sizzling sound effects to boot. So it
was inevitable that Kane 2 was going to follow
suit and provide us with the same gaming experience as
it's original incarnation. Problem was, the game seemed
to be lacking in something and didn't really hit the
mark. The same can also be said for the ending...

"I-HO SILVER!"

A brief message and
then The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
Inge is an accomplished C64 game
hacker and so I wouldn't be surprised if he skipped
playing the game and took us straight to the ending ;)
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
The ending starts with a sunset in the desert, and a
message that reads: "SO ONCE MORE MARSHALL MCGRAW
SINGLE HANDEDLY BROUGHT PEACE BACK TO THE WAGARI
INDIANS. ONLY HISTORY WILL TELL OF THE GREAT
CONTRIBUTION THIS MAN MADE TO THE CAUSE OF THE FREE
WORLD. WE MERE MORTALS WILL DO WELL TO EMULATE SOME OF
HIS LESSER EXPLOITS. YOUR SCORE IN THIS GAME WAS..."
COMMENTS:
After having seen the ending to Kane, Kane 2 is a bit of
a let down and doesn't really offer much apart from a
picture and a final message. Beware: the music is
annoying!
FINAL SAY:
Not much cop.
