> JUDGE DREDD by Virgin/Mastertronic

• Completed & Reviewed by Vinny Mainolfi

This is another one of those endings that spent an age in our Offline Archive, which means I am not too sure whether I played some of the game (I doubt it) or I just cheated straight to the end (that's more like it).

Judge Dredd by Virgin/Mastertronic is not to be mistaken for the Melbourne House version - though both do involve a bit of platform romping. I spent a few minutes familiarising myself with the game and decided that it wasn't for me. I probably didn't play through this and just jumped to the end...

Look at that scar!

He's a mean looking muvva!

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I used a cracked version of the game by IKARI.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: You get a cartoon storyboard type ending that shows the Chief Judge Silver offering his job to Judge Dredd (see above screen shots). Judge Dredd turns down the job, which then signals the end of the game.

COMMENTS:

  • Vinny: There is a lot that the programmers could have done to make this a brilliant ending, but judging by the quality of the game itself, maybe they just had no idea! Saying that, it's a cool ending, and I really like the comic style graphics - even if they are a little blocky. It could have done with a cracking tune and some animation.

FINAL SAY: It's kind of cool but lacking in imagination.

G.E. RATING: 5.5 / 10
