It's Magic is a nice game; it's got so much going for it: nice intro, nice intro music, very colourful, nice graphics and sprites - it's nice. But that's it's downfall: the fact that it's nice and not brilliant. It's lacking something during the game play and I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it needs an in-game tune or some bulker sound effects - or maybe even both! To give you an example of what I mean: when you complete the first level, there is no musical fanfare or real sonic recognition; it's just a plain old 'WELL DONE' message.

So that aside, it's still fun to play and I'm looking forward to seeing what lies at the end...

Ahhhh... a beautiful sunset.

Here comes the credits.

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: Come on, you know me - I cheated!

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Well, the ending starts with an image of a cat (?) looking towards a golden sunset and admiring the view (the head is animated). The words: "THE END OF ITS MAGIC" appear, and then the ending tune kicks in. This is accompanied by the ending text that houses the epilogue and also some credits and messages (too much to show here, so take a look at the video or emulated ending file for full details).

  • Vinny: Okay - so the game is okay, but ironically, it then becomes better when the ending starts! Some nice graphics and animation, and a great epilogue along with the credits. Also a cool piece of ending music - though it does drag a bit after reading all the text.

...and to think: I got all the way through this review with mentioning Mayhem in Monsterland. Ah - poo!

  • Andrew Fisher: Well, that's a very good ending.

I have to say I liked the game but didn't persevere with it - it was good, but not great, particularly in comparison with certain titles it was trying to emulate.

  • Kungfufurby: Nice epilogue, complete with staff roll! The ending all takes place on one screen, which isn't half bad. The music is also quite good.

Well, I do see a cat moving occasionally... ^_^

  • Andy Vaisey: A decent enough ending in my book to a game I always thought was a bit kinda 'soulless'...

  • Brendan Phoenix: Hmmm, leaves me a little cold this one for some reason.

Scrolling credits are always a nice touch but the occasional bobbing of a cats head and some uninspiring music won't get me replaying this ending again.

FINAL SAY: It's magic!

G.E. RATING: 8 / 10
