The Island of Dr. Destructo is a chaotic little
shoot-em-up by Bulldog software. It's a single screen
game for one or two players. You have to shoot enemy
aircraft and send them crashing into the battleships
below to cause damage to them and ultimately sink them.
Success will send you onto the next ship in Dr.
Destructo's fleet, which has been sent to conquer the
world - so the aim of the game is to thwart the mad
doctor's plans. The graphics are cartoon like and are
well animated. The controls take some getting used to,
but work quite well after a few games. There are twenty
one levels to beat, with the last level being the final
conflict at Dr. Destructo's fortress. The game is very
difficult, so I'm glad I found some cheats for it. It's
a game that seems to be either loved or hated by C64
gamers. In my opinion it's a pretty good game with
enough frantic action to keep you hooked for a while.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
I used a level skip cheat.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
If you manage to cause enough damage to the fortress,
you get to see it fall down off the bottom of the
screen. A message then appears which reads 'Today you
win.. Tomorrow you shall kneel before me!!'. The game
then restarts.
