Thalamus had a reputation for producing clean-cut,
quality software, and Hawkeye was no exception; it oozed
quality in game play, graphics and sound. Though I am a
little suspect when ZZAP!64 magazine, owned by the same
company as Thalamus, gives this game an overall score of
96%! It's not THAT good! Still - it's worthy of a good
score and a few plays.
Thankfully Matt Rogers had
the patience to play through the game to obtain the
following game ending...
"GIVE THIS MAN A ..."
Whoooooosh! Here comes
the ending ...
Our hero can now afford
to pay for a colour license.
He raises his arms to
the sky and gets hit by a bolt of lightening.
Finally! Colour :-)
And now for a camp
posture. The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
I'm not quite sure how Matt completed this one, though
there is a version or two that allows you to play
through with the cheat ;-)
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
After completing the final task, a screen displaying 'WARPING
TO THE END' appears. A few seconds later our hero
appears in black & white under some arching arms.
He raises his arms and a
bolt of lightning strikes him, giving him colour! He
then places his hands on his hips - oo-missus.
A cracking end tune from
Jeroen Tel pounds in the background, adding great effect
to the whole ending.
I kind of expected this game to have a cool ending and I
was glad not to be let down; it is quite classy but
unfortunately lasts for only a few seconds. Saying that,
the tune carries on thumping away :-)
FINAL SAY : It's
worth a few looks (",)
to view more endings.
