> HARBOUR ATTACK by Commodore Business Machines

• Completed & Reviewed by Neil Collins

Next up a very basic game by Mr. Micro Software called Harbour Attack. It's a shoot-em-up consisting of three simple single screen scenarios: the first puts you in control of a submarine where you have to avoid sea-mines to get to the right hand side of the screen; the second is where you do battle against sea monsters, boats and planes, and the third is where you have to fire at tanks in the enemy harbour. All are very simple to beat and have basic graphics and sound. Not a game that I enjoyed much and will probably never play again...

It's all over.

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I used a lives cheat and beat the game over and over to see if the simple ending got better after level eight. It didn't I'm afraid.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: The ending looks like a title page. Just some simple coloured text with a message which reads 'WELL DONE. YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR MISSION. BONUS 10000 POINTS. NOW YOU MUST ATTACK THE NEXT ENEMY BASE. GOOD LUCK'.

  • Neil: Not a lot to report here. A tragic ending to a quite poor game. 1/10.
  • Vinny: Boring game, boring ending. Boring score of 1/10 from me too.
  • Andrew Fisher: Can't say I ever played it, can't say I ever will... Typical of its day in many ways.
  • Andy Vaisey: I hear what you're saying about the constant rubbish endings, but sometimes they can be half forgiven if the game is at least half decent and good fun.

However, in this case a poor game and ending just grates.

FINAL SAY: Another very simple game with a simple end.

G.E. RATING: 1 / 10
