To be honest, I have only recently sat down and played this game for the first time ever! I'm not really a Ghostbusters 2 fan and so the game had no pulling power on me. The strange thing is, I actually played this game all the way through without cheating and found it quite fun and challenging. God only know why ZZAP!64 magazine only gave it a measly score of 39%. Anyway - the game is now complete and now it's time to reveal the ending...

Ghostbusters are kicking some ghostly ass!

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: Finally - another game completed without cheating!

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: On the final level, you have to retrieve the baby and then zap the hell out of the final boss, Vigo. Once this is achieved, a message pops up that reads: "CONGRATULATIONS!! PRESS FIRE". The end then loads and starts with an image of Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver (don't know the character names) holding the baby. This is accompanied by a scroller that reads: "VIGO MELTS FROM THE CANVAS! REST ASSURED THAT VIGO'S POWER HAS BEEN NEUTRALIZED BY THE PEOPLE'S GOODWILL AND YOUR COURAGE AS A GHOSTBUSTER! CONGRATULATIONS!" This ending is accompanied by the tune: Ol Lang Syne.


  • Vinny: I was pleasantly surprised by the ending. I thought it was going to be a standard text message with no sound. The only thing missing was some animation and some better music - something like a THUMPING Ghostbusters tune!

  • Andy Vaisey: But is is a bad game. However, it struck a chord with you for some reason. I willing to bet we all have these in our collection. Bad games that got us hooked for some reason...

    The ending: a half decent attempt over and above the standard congrats message, but that is a truly horrendous bitmap in every way imaginable.

  • Andrew Fisher: Didn't know that Nick Pelling coded this one - the Oliver Twins designed/developed the basic game ideas. And the ZZAP! review put me off playing it. As Andy says, it's three very short sub-games masquerading as a larger game, and was always going to pale into comparison with the original Ghostbusters game.

    Decent ending with pictures and music. Nicely done.

  • Brendan Phoenix: I thought it was a poor game - just the 3 levels at the end of the day.

    The end is ok, similar to the Amiga version from what I remember (didn't enjoy it on there either).
