I've played Gee Bee Air Rally before, but only on
the Amiga. I don't remember it being anything special
and expected the C64 version to be far worse because of
the machine limitations, but it isn't too bad really...
The aim is to win various
airplane races where you have to avoid rival pilots and
stay within the course boundaries. There's a time limit
to complete each course and there are bonus levels
between the main races. It's fast with decent graphics
and is easy to play, but there's little variety or
excitement to keep you playing for a long period of
time. It's a bit of a change from your standard car
racing games though, so it's definitely worth a look.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
As you win levels, you get to see little graphically
interludes. Once all levels are beaten the interludes
piece together to form the complete ending. The first
picture shows the winning pilot receiving the tournament
trophy in front of members of the press while the pretty
mayor looks on. A jolly little tune plays as the ending
unfolds. Next we see a member of the press asking for a
picture of the pilot with the mayor. The next picture
shows a black and white photograph of the pilot kissing
the mayor. The mayor's blouse seems to have fallen apart
at the front! Oooohhh Errrr Missus! The final picture
shows the photograph within a frame, displayed on a
shelf along with the pilot's trophy and goggles. The
words 'THE END' are also shown above the
photograph. It seems our pilot got more than one prize.
