Fungus by Players software is a game that I owned as
a kid. It must have been given to me as a gift, as I
don't remember buying it. I only played it a handful of
times as the game is absolutely rock hard. No one on
this planet would be able to complete this game without
cheating - it's impossible!
The aim
of the game is to guide Fungus along the course,
collecting mushrooms, jumping over aliens and avoiding
all obstacles and gaps in the floor. It's a
side-scrolling game so you can't stop and plan your
moves. The sprite detection is awful and unforgiving -
which makes the task harder. The screen is sometimes so
full of things to avoid, that you just can't survive.
Playing this game is pointless. It's not fun, and
there's no way you will beat it without cheating.

Fungus falls from the
sky...

...and dances a merry
jig!

The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
I played it using an emulator and saving my position
about one million times before beating it.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
After several frustrating hours, I finally reached the
end of the game. The main character leaps in the air and
spins around a few times before disappearing. Your bonus
is calculated and your final score is given before the
game restarts.
