FIRE AND FORGET 2
by Titus Software
|
• Completed
& Reviewed by Neil Collins
Fire & Forget II by Titus software is your run of
the mill car game. It's similar to the likes of Chase HQ
and Roadblasters. You have to race along against the
clock, blasting bad guys and making your way through the
five levels. At the end of each level, you have to
battle an enemy vehicle to progress. It's not a very
exciting game, and seems to have been slated by many C64
gamers and magazines. I remember playing this on the
Amiga, but don't remember much about it so it can't have
been that good either.

Gotcha!

The final level is
complete.

The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
Using an infinite lives & time cheat.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Once the final bad guy is blown to pieces, a picture
loads up from the disk. It shows your car parked before
a city of skyscrapers at night with the word 'CONGRATULATIONS'
at the top. The game then freezes up.
COMMENTS:
- Neil:
Not too bad. A bit of animation would have livened it up
a bit. 3/10.
- Vinny:
I've never actually played this game on my Commodore 64,
but I do remember playing it on my Amiga. I was never a
fan of it, and I'm not a fan of this ending. Nice
picture, but far too silent for my liking :( 2/10.
- Andy Vaisey:
Bit poor. Congratulations indeed...
- Brendan Phoenix:
Remember the Amiga had these great big graphics - kinda
like Crazy Cars. However, like Crazy Cars, it played
like a dog.
Ok congratulations screen to be fair, about as much as I
would have hoped for.
- Stefan Guerilla:
Not too bad - I was always happy to see a full screen
picture on the good old C64. Some kind of conclusion to
the story would have been nice, though. So all in all,
that's 4/10 for me - consider that many game endings
give you a tiny extra sprite or small animation only. So
a full screen picture does it for me!
- Andrew Fisher:
We didn't get the original game in the series, which was
also heavily slated by the magazines. I suppose the 3D
effect isn't bad, but the game play is so repetitive.
Still, nice ending picture even if it doesn't do much
else.
- Gaz Spence:
A reasonable ending pic to a 'Forget'ful game.
FINAL SAY: Nice to see an ending, but it's not
much to shout about.
