To be totally honest with you, I'd never heard of this game! I think I was going through a list of Tony Crowther games and stumbled upon it. It looks kind of fun to play, but I just whacked in a cracked version of the game and used a long list of cheats (see below) with the emulator speed at 500%. I should really play the game correctly to find out what I may be missing...

Anyway, the game itself is a very colourful version of Commando and Who Dares Wins, with an extra few game modes thrown in for good measure such as Jeep driving. The only downside to it is that it plays too much like a SEUCK game and could have almost been designed in one! ZZAP64! magazine took a disliking to the game saying, "an old-fashioned game from a new-style software label", at which point they score it 51%.

Take on board all of the above comments, you'd naturally think that the ending was going to be a pile of poo...

Our hero has completed his mission.

HQ pick him up and whisks him home.

Back at the ranch, the lads are waiting for him.

Our hero approaches his boss...

...they embrace and our hero gets give a medal...

...and another medal...

...and another medal...

...and another medal...

...until he decides that it's time to LEG-IT!

The End.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Once the final level is complete, our hero is whisked away to a medals ceremony where he is presented with a ton of medals for his accomplishments. The jolly event sees our hero's friends dancing with joy as he receives each medal. Stop listening to my waffle; see the ending for yourself!

COMMENTS:

  • Vinny: I am totally astonished; I really am! I was so convinced that this game ending was going to be cack that I almost didn't bother with it.

This is a great ending sequence with some funny graphics and a cool ending tune (sounds like the drums from Tarzan) by Mr Crowther himself. I love the idea of showing the different medals. And the dancing troops just cracks me up every time. This gets a thumbs up from me :)

  • Brendan Phoenix: Nice to see a game of this ilk with a half decent ending - usually the likes of Commando and Who Dares Wins just have a crappy ' Congratulations ' message

Also a half decent ending from Tony Crowther after a poor run of form.

  • Andy Vaisey: Awful name, okayish game, tidy little ending. A right mish-mash! And what's with them rasters on the high score entry screen? Little out of place methinks?

  • Andrew Fisher: The graphics are a bit gaudy, but there's some solid gameplay in there - it's a lot more complex than a SEUCK game, Vinny! As for the ending, I agree with Andy, it's a bit of a mish-mash... but there's some nice elements in there, such as the medals. 7/10.

FINAL SAY: Could have been a little more polished, but gets a deserved 8 out of 10.

G.E. RATING: 8 / 10
