Unfortunately, the original commercial release of
Fairlight contained a serious bug that meant you wasn't
able to complete the game! I didn't own this game back
in the day, but I would have been very annoyed if I had
paid for it - only to find that the bug only allows you
to get so far. Fortunately, a version exists where the
bug has been corrected, so that you can complete
it.
The aim of the game is to
free the wizard and escape from the castle. The bug lies
in the tower where one of the three wraiths should be
killed using a potion - but he does not die in the
original version. Anyway - I finally managed to get to
the end...

A door...

...which appears to
be a pain to open!

FINALLY!

The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
Using an infinite energy cheat and a solution which I
found online.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
After finding all three potions, killing all three
wraiths, finding the final key and making my way to the
exit, the game was complete. A message appears to tell
you of your success (in bad English), and that your
journey continues in the second Fairlight game - which
was never made on the C64. A 'GAME OVER' message then
takes you back to the title page.
FINAL SAY:
A
short, yet enjoyable game. Shame it was ruined by a
silly bug and an inadequate ending.
