I posted some info on the forum regarding this game
- really thought it was impossible to do - so I'm quite
chuffed that I managed to complete it. Ok it was with
infinite lives, but I had a timer against me and you
lose all pieces of the door when you lose a life. It was
tough.
I'm happy to report that
after the battle to complete it, it does have an end
(and then starts from the beginning). To be honest, for
an early budget game (1985 I think) it's ok - to be
honest I was half expecting it not to have any.

The final level is
complete.

Our Knight walks out
through the door.

He flies over the
castle carrying the evil Wizard.

He drops the Wizard
...

... who explodes
before you eyes!

The castle is safe
once more. The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
Just infinite lives :)
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
The original instructions (I have the game) states you
have to rescue the Princess from an evil wizard - the
ending makes no mention of the Princess, however what we
do get is you flying on a big bird (in the game you pick
up Excaliba and you are transported on to the big bird
and can fly around the screen picking up pieces of the
door - easier than walking about. Funny thing is,
Excaliba only appeared in the first 2 levels - not the
later ones!) past the backdrop of the castle, carrying
the evil wizard - you drop him and he explodes into
multi coloured balls! A little ditty plays as you fly at
the top of the screen.
COMMENTS:
It's short and it's rather good for it's age - I think I
would have awarded it a much higher mark if it actually
had some congratulations message and fitting epilogue
saying you have rescued the Princess, etc, etc.
FINAL SAY: All in all, an ok ending.
