> DIE HARD 2: Die Harder by Grandslam

• Completed & Reviewed by Neil Collins

Die Hard 2. It's nowhere near as good as the first game, so don't expect it to be. This game is in the style of operation wolf, where you control a crosshair to shoot the oncoming enemy. It's not too bad, but very repetitive. The aim is to stop the general escaping in his plane.

It's Die Hard... you've got to have an areoplane!

Nearly there...

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: An infinite bullets and energy cheat were used to get through this one.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Once you kill all the enemies on the final level, you get a pic of the exploding plane and a message saying that you have foiled the general's escape and have completed the game. The game then restarts.

  • Neil: Not too bad I suppose. It was never going to be as good as the first Die Hard. 4/10.
  • Vinny: I'm a big fan of the movies, but I'm not too impressed with any of the Commodore 64 games...

...and as for the ending... really?!? I was expecting something epic! 3.5/10 from me.
  • Andy Vaisey: The DH games are dismal, grubbier than Bruce's film vests. This ending is actually more than I was expecting to be honest, but still very average, perhaps one notch above the standard text 'Well Done' type endings. 4/10 sounds about right to me.
  • Andrew Fisher: With a bit more polish and playtesting this could have been a good game.

The ending is alright, but nothing to write home about.
  • Brendan Phoenix: Trouble is we have the first Die Hard game ending to compare it to, which is way above average and it suffers in comparison.
  • Gaz Spence: Looking back at the films, I think the first takes some beating. As sequels go, the 2nd wasn't too bad and the same can be said about the games right through to the endings.

FINAL SAY: At least there was an ending. Shame it wasn't a bit better.

G.E. RATING: 4 / 10
