I remember playing this game back in the day on my Amiga. Back then I wasn't a fan of this very strange and almost impossible arcade adventure, and funnily enough it still doesn't enthral me. Admittedly, it looks like a fun game to play, but that's where the fun element stops!

I recently revisited the game but this time on my trusty Commodore 64. No surprise to hear me report that the game is also dire on that machine. Maybe I am missing something; maybe I am just cack at games. Anyway - the ending doesn't off any additional saving grace...

You start drilling...

"You bite on granit!"

The End!

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: Brendan used a walkthrough to complete the game - the trained version would not let you purchase a certain item - try as he might. So he used several save states to get me to the end.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: You start drilling, and then a message appears that reads: "YOU BIT ON GRANIT!" The ending message then appears: "YEAH, YOU HAVE FOUND DR BAKTERIUS. CARE TO PLAY AGAIN? YEAH!!!"

  • Brendan: Clever & Smart - what can I say - apart from the ending is neither Clever nor Smart! Shit & Piss would be more appropriate! Terrible, terrible ending.

I have started the end save state as you are drilling - a quick flash appears (looks like it says you have hit granite) and then we have the lamest end message ever. No music, no end screen shot - just some little txt in the game screen.

Boy, this should be a zero - but as it does have an ending it should be awarded the lowest possible score - 0.5/10
  • Vinny: Hmmmm... I think Brendan hit the nail on the head when he said that this ending is neither Clever nor Smart. What an absolute waste of a good opportunity. Boring. Seriously boring. 0.5/10 - if that!

  • Gaz Spence: The game is dumb and the ending dumber.

  • Andy Vaisey: p0oP!

  • Andrew Fisher: Badly translated from the German original, with some of the humour proving difficult to understand, it's no wonder ZZAP! slated this.

And what a terrible ending. 0.5 is being generous..

FINAL SAY: the ending is neither Clever nor Smart!

G.E. RATING: 0.5 / 10
