Circus Circus by Firebird is a game that I had to
complete. I owned the game as a kid and found it very
creepy. The loading screen shows some cloaked character
welcoming you to the bizarre circus in which there are
twenty difficult levels full of freaky characters. The
music is very irritating and whenever I hear it today it
sends shivers down my spine. I can't really explain why
I found this game so creepy and to my surprise I have
read online that many other C64 gamers felt the same way
about it. The game is a very simple platform game, which
is very difficult to beat. There are no backgrounds as
such and the sprites are chunky and badly animated. The
control method is very poor which makes the game almost
impossible to beat without cheating. I always wondered
if there was an ending to this game, and only later
found out that there is a simple cheat method in the
game which allows you to skip levels. I can't really
recommend this game to anyone as there's nothing about
it that is enjoyable. Stay away from it. It's way too
creepy.

Sorry - come again?

Oooo... stars!

The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
Using a bizarre cheat mode. Holding down CTRL, RUN-STOP,
SHIFT and CBM KEY skips levels.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
At the end of level twenty, you get a congratulations
message. It reads 'CONGRATULATIONS CIRCUS PLAYER LAST
BOARD RESTART AT LEVEL 2'. It needed a bit of
punctuation if you ask me as it made very little sense.
The game then restarts at level 2 (I have no idea why).
If you complete the game again, the same thing happens.
It's all a bit odd.
