Yep, this is one of them Codemasters 'simulator' games. They seemed to produce quite a few of these, and this is one of the poorer ones. It's an overhead racing game, where you have to race other jet bikers around the course. The sprites are tiny, and the graphics in general are quite simple. Controlling the jet bike is easy, but it gets very difficult to beat the computer opponents as you progress through the levels. It's one of those games that you will probably play twice and then never bother again. There's just not enough action to keep you interested.

Performance scores...

...and The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I used a trainer that allowed me to qualify in every time, even if I just stayed still throughout the race. Nice!

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Once course eight is beaten (or not in my case), the end screen is revealed. It's basically a message of congratulations from the Oliver twins. The text is a list of superlatives about your achievement, followed by a comment about your neat steering during the game and a recommendation of other similar Codemasters titles. Pressing the space bar then returns you to the main menu.

  • Neil: It's just a page of text, but I'm grateful the Oliver twins actually put something at the end of it. 3/10.
  • Vinny: Spooky - Neil hit the nail on the head when he said "It's one of those games that you will probably play twice and then never bother again" because that's EXACTLY what I did. I was banging my head against the wall and then just gave up - which I typically do with these kind of games. Codemasters really saturated the market with bad 'simulator' games. I surprised they're not still milking the word 'simulator'!

As for the ending, it's your typical extended, text ending and so I'm only going to give it 2/10.
  • Andrew Fisher: Milking it is right - there is very little difference between Grand Prix, BMX and Championship Ski Simulators. Run The Gauntlet's water sections were more fun than this cheap rubbish.

As for the ending. It's outstanding and incredible that they thought this was a good ending...
  • Gaz Spence: I'm kinda surprised that the game has an end but it is only text so hardly super, resounding, excellent and so on.
  • Andy Vaisey: Urgh. Copying some words out of a thesaurus and adding some cheeky plugs for other games does not an ending make. I'm surprised that the Codies never released a game called 'Cheap Tat Simulator', since that is what most of these games were...

FINAL SAY: I didn't think there was anything at the end of this one!

G.E. RATING: 2.5 / 10
