Hmmm... I'm sure Centurions Power Xtreme was an American cartoon series that was shown in the UK on Saturday morning TV (does anyone remember it?). I was around 17/18 when it aired and so I was a little too old to watch it - though I was still watching Spider-man and The Hulk cartoons at the time... I doubt I would have liked it though because it doesn't really look like my kind of show - a little too Transformers meets Power Rangers!

Centurions Power Xtreme by Ariolasoft, written by the great Tony Crowther and Ross Goodley, is obviously a licensed game of the above mentioned TV show. I haven't got a clue what it's about, and I don't actually remember playing the game! This game ending has been in the OFFLINE ARCHIVE for around 10 years or more and so I can't really remember it. All I do remember about the game is that it has a really cool intro, clean graphics, and some cool sonix from Mr. Crowther himself. I do wonder about the game play though seeing that ZZAP! 64 magazine gave it an overall score of 53%!! I'm guessing that the game ending isn't going to be too impressive either...

Game complete...

An early version of Windows!

Ooooo... it reminds me of PowerPoint!

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I used some kind of cheat...

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Once the game is complete, you get a coloured box, 'zoom in', visual effect along with the ending message: "CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE DONE IT. GAME OVER. PRESS FIRE TO QUIT DEMO." This is accompanied by an ending tune.

  • Vinny: Looking at the ending, I do wonder why it's such a lacklustre experience, and WHY Tony Crowther and Ross Goodley put more effort into the cool intro :( This ending could have been so much better because we know what the coders are capable of! A real letdown for me. 3/10.
  • Gaz Spence: Don't remember the cartoon but by then I was playing football after school and at the weekends - which is what I'd rather be doing now instead of commenting on an average ending.
  • Andrew Fisher: I remember the cartoon but never bothered with the game. Odd ending, almost like something is missing from it...
  • Andy Vaisey: I remember the cartoon.

What kind of nonsense is that ending? -2/10

FINAL SAY: Definitely lacking in power... xtreme!

G.E. RATING: 3 / 10
