> BLOOD BROTHERS by Gremlin Graphics

• Completed & Reviewed by Neil Collins

Blood Brothers by Gremlin Graphics is a game that has been driving me up the wall for quite a while. Although being a little different from run of the mill platform games, it's an annoyingly tricky and irritating game...

You control two brothers, bonded by blood and out for revenge on the evil Scorpions as they have murdered your family (and I just thought they played mediocre rock songs!). For some strange reason, the way you get revenge and win the games is to collect a certain amount of diamonds from various mines. You will need to use one brother on the platform game parts and the other on the spaceship flying parts. It all sounds a bit better than it all actually is, which is a dull platform game with difficult interludes where you crash into walls all too often.

Graphically it isn't too bad although it does look and feel like an Amstrad game, but it plays so badly and is way too hard to enjoy. Avoid this one. It's a load of rubbish.

Looks like this mine is completed!

Told ya!

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I tried playing and cheating but I just couldn't get to the end. I finally beat a few levels and then POKEd the code to get the final tally of diamonds. All we need now is a spectacular ending...

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: The game is split into three modules, so beating them all wins the game. A message appears which confirms that you have beaten the current module on collecting the last diamond. Following that is an almost identical message which reads 'CONGRATULATIONS. YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE GAME'.

  • Neil: Well what can I say... I suppose it confirms the obvious, but it's one of the biggest let downs to a game ever. Crap! 1/10.
  • Vinny: A seriously poor game, and a devastatingly poor ending! 0.5/10 from me.
  • Andrew Fisher: I remember Mel Croucher joking about the unsanitary advert, and that is an unsanitary ending. Pure excrement.

FINAL SAY: Pass me the bucket!
