Here's one of those games that I never owned and only played because I found it on Gamebase 64 and played it through an emulator to obtain the ending.

Blazing Thunder is your typical, run of the mill, Shoot-em-up game that resembles a game created using the SEUCK but with some added elements such as animated water, level intros, a title screen and so on. It's an okay game with five levels to play through and some nice graphics and sonix to boot.

One strange aspect to the game is the size of the enemy men running around: they seem to be bigger than the tank you control, which makes me think it's a remote control tank! That aside, it a nice little budget game...

The final level is complete...

...and the final level ending boss is no more!

The End.

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?: I used trainer version that allowed me to skip levels and then use cheats to whiz through the final section.

SO WHAT HAPPENS?: Once you kill the final boss, the words "GAME COMPLETED" appear, which is accompanied by the usual 'end of level' ditty.

COMMENTS:

  • Vinny: To be honest with you, I was expecting EXACTLY this kind of ending and nothing more. It looks like the code has used sprites to display the ending. 0.5/10 from me.
  • Andy Vaisey: Nope, never heard of it. But you're correct, it could definitely pass for a modded SEUCK game. And yet another rubbish ending.
  • Andrew Fisher: Well, they also did Black Hornet which seems similar in the way it works. So maybe both are based around SEUCK or they used a similar game engine. Less a thunderous round of applause for the ending, more like a single sarcastic clap.
  • Gaz Spence: Certainly the level maps have more than a passing resemblance to a SEUCK effort - a typical dull budget SEU from the late 1980's tbh and a tripe ending too.
  • Brendan Phoenix: Ugly graphics. Ugly ending.

FINAL SAY: There's no thunder here!

G.E. RATING: 0.5 / 10
