Back in 1985 I spent most
of my summer holiday, evenings and night times trying to
complete this little gem. I really was hooked on this
game and even started to build my own map to share with
my mates. Fortunately - someone else had produced a map
and solution and so it wasn't long after that, that I
managed to see the ending.
This
time round, we are treated to the ending thanks to
Matthew Rogers...

The final door...

...where you have to defeat the final boss.

Sir Arthur is here to save the day.

KA-BOOM!

"You're welcome."

"Off you trot."

The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
"Matthew is a chee-eat!" c(",)
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Well - once you have defeated the final "BIG HEADED" boss,
the trapped ghost thanks you and makes a hasty retreat.
The screen then blends into the words, "CONGRATULATIONS
YOU HAVE COMPLETED BLACKWYCHE. LOOK OUT FOR SIR ARTHUR
PENDRAGON'S NEXT EXCITING ADVENTURE IN DRAGONSKULLE."
This is all accompanied by sound effects.
COMMENTS:
- Vinny:
To be honest - it's one of those endings you would
have expected with this type of game, which is why I
have given it a higher mark than usual. I do
remember completing it back in the day and being
totally satisfied with the ending. In fact - I think
I ran round my bedroom screaming: "YES! YES! YES!"
I'm sure my parents were a little suspect as to what
I was up to :-/
-
Brendan Phoenix:
Vinny, I did the exact same thing.
I actually did a new map a few years back - I still
have it as well.
Without a doubt this is the best ending of all the
Sir Arthur Pendragon games. I love them, really do.
Some of the puzzles are a little obscure, but it was
great fun discovering new rooms and searching the
ship.
-
Andrew Fisher:
It's my least favourite of the Pendragon games, but
a reasonable ending all the same.
