I am surprised that this game was coded by
Stephen Ruddy of
Bionic
Commando fame. It really is a poor game with tacky
sprites, unresponsive controls and overall a very bad
game. The only saving grace is Tim Follins music. So
with all that in mind, do you think Stephen put some
effort into the ending?...

The End.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
I used a cracked version of the game to get me straight
to the end.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Nothing much apart from the above epilogue screen and a
small, simple ditty by Tim Follin.
COMMENTS:
- Vinny:
There really isn't anything that captivates me about this
ending: the tune is really bad, there is not animation, no
cool picture, and it's totally flat. Even the epilogue
contradicts itself: how on earth can Jack have collected all
the lamps if there are more to collect! DOH!
- Andy Vaisey: A
friend of mine bought this on the strength of the ZZAP!
review and screenshot. Unfortunately for him, ZZAP! had
used a 16-bit (I think) screenshot and obviously the C64
version looked nothing like it. See what I mean here...
Although I thought the GFX were ok, as was the music, I
found the gameplay somewhat lacking; all the ingredients
seemed there, but the final wave of the magic wand
hadn't done it's thing. Sadly, this average gameplay is
backed by a less than stellar text ending.
- Gaz Spence: A
game I've never tried myself but ending ticks all the
boxes in the can't-be-arsed category.
- Brendan Phoenix:
Any game which has those lame endings where they say
you need to go back and collect more - they should be
docked points! Grrr
- Andrew Fisher:
Terrible ending, which fits with the very bland and
repetitive gameplay.
FINAL SAY: Maybe 2/10 is too high a mark!
