Batty by Elite was released as part of a multipack
called The Hit Pak Volume 2 featuring:
Into The Eagle's Nest, Ace, International Karate,
Shockway Rider, and Light Force. It was later released
on the Encore label as a separate game.
The game itself is a
blatant rip-off of
Imagine Software, but is still a good game. It looks
very much like its counterpart, but plays a little
different and isn't so polished - I actually prefer Arkanoid.
My guess has always been
that this game doesn't have an ending and just loops.
You're about to see what ACTUALLY happens at the end...

HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
When Frank came over for a Retro Weekend, we decided to
hack the ending to this game. I've lost the codes now,
but I think we made the game jump to the final level.
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Once the final level is complete, the ending screen
appears, which reads: "CONGRATULATIONS. YOU RECEIVE
1,000,000 POINTS BONUS PLUS 50,000 POINTS PER LIFE LEFT".
You then receive your final score and then it's 'GAME
OVER'. This is accompanied by an ending ditty.
