Completed
by Vinny Mainolfi & Matthew Rogers
We originally had this ending just showing the final
message screen, but then we were fortunate to have a C64
fan contact us to say that there was a little more to
the ending than we actually revealed.
Matthew Rogers was on the
case and finally produced the goods ...

Batman shoots down the
Joker ...

... who falls to his
death!

Or is he just
pretending to be dead?!

The End. For now.
HOW WAS IT COMPLETED?:
I cheated all the way to the ending :-)
SO WHAT HAPPENS?:
Well to defeat the Joker, you have to fire the swinging
hook at him, which knocks him off the ladder before he
can escape.
The Joker plunges to his
death but for some reason he isn't dead! In fact, he can
been seen saying, "HA HA!".
The game then cuts away to
the final message screen (see last screenshot above).
COMMENTS:
Both Matthew and I were expecting a little more to this
ending after being told that we were missing something.
It does deserve a few more marks and I must also point
out the nice music that accompanies this ending (well
done Mathew Cannon).
FINAL SAY: Matthew:
'still not much cop!'
FINAL SAY: Vinny: Judge for yourself ...
G.E. RATING:
4
/ 10
ADDITIONAL INFO FROM JARI KARJALAINEN on 06/07/06:
"In case you haven't seen the 1988 movie, which the
game was based on (*surprise*), the reason why Joker
seems to laugh at the end of the game after falling to
his death, it's because in the movie, the cops find a
little joker toy from Joker's pocket, which is laughing
this stupid repeating joker laugh, which, I suppose, is
what the little ha-ha effects written over the dead
Joker must be about. So, the ending makes a bit more
sense when you look at it with the movie in mind. I
thought it was a nice little detail in the ending, and I
thought it would've deserved at least a 5 or a 6."
